Digital Signage for IBM at Airports

About the Campaign

Delhi International Airport (DIAL) partnered with IBM India to establish world-class IT infrastructure in Passenger Terminal Building 3. The system automated operations and improved customer satisfaction through a unified network solution — integrating video, voice, and data over a single network platform with redundancy and scalability.

Campaign's Objective

DIAL and IBM sought to create customer engagement experiences by connecting networks of digital signs, kiosks, and mobile devices — transforming passive airport signage into an interactive experience for travellers.

CIL's Solution

CIL provided a platform for centrally managing digital experiences while maintaining flexibility for local adaptation. The innovation was the first-ever mobile-controlled Digital Signage that could be transformed into an interactive kiosk by any mobile phone — enabling queue management and zero-cost user interaction without requiring any app or internet connection.

Outcome

  • First campaign allowing airport commuters to control LED display screens via mobile
  • Received massive response across premium out-of-home media locations
  • First campaign combining mobile phones and digital signage without apps or internet
  • Real-time user tracking and content analytics enabled
